Roger

Roger, a senior male Maltese, came to MMR
from the AC&C. He was a half blind, stray with no hair. His foster mom decided to help
out but insisted she could not adopt him because she was still dealing with the loss of
her Maltese, Ernie. Well, Roger found a place in her heart and is home to stay. She said
he is a joy for her and her family. Every time she looks at his giant jack-o-lantern
smile, with his 5 protruding teeth, she smiles. When she see his tail wag all the time
(even when he is lying down), she smiles. When he barks at airplanes and fire engines, she
smiles. He makes everybody smile and that is what it is all about.

Nicky

Nicky, a seven-year-old male Maltese-Bichon
mix, was an owner-surrender to MMR. Nicky sped through foster care when his foster
moms visiting sister and family fell in love with him and decided they couldn't live
without him. Nicky takes turns sleeping on the kids' beds at night and during the day he
runs and chases his toys in the backyard. In August, Nicky discovered the pleasures of
chasing the children and various sea gulls on the beaches of Cape Cod. He also showed his
new family that he is adept at swimming and enjoys a boat ride with the best of them! The
family reports that "Nicky has been a wonderful addition to our family. Thank you MMR
for all that you do to rescue dogs in need of a loving home!"

Fluffy

Fluffy, a 9-10 year-old male, came from the
Brooklyn AC&C shelter. He had been adopted out by the shelter in the past, and
returned because the owner had a baby. He arrived very skinny, but had the sweetest
personality. We knew he would make someone very happy. His new owner is a man who is
loving and kind. When he is not watching his dad work, you can find them taking walks on
the beach together.

Bobby

Bobby is a 6-year-old Maltese from Manhattan AC&C
shelter who had been adopted out by the shelter several years ago, and now returned
because his owners tired of him. Bobby has long, pretty hair that was filthy. He
flourished in his foster home and received necessary dentistry. He has landed the life of
love now, in a safe, secure home that will never give him up. His new "parents"
both grew up with Maltese and small dogs, but had lived in no-pet buildings as adults
until recently. Now they relish the opportunity to lavish all their pet yearnings upon
Bobby, who accepts his plight with glee.

Sammie

Our little Sammie was adopted by a man in an
upstate suburb of New York, where he fits right in. The adopter's 17-year-old Maltese had
recently died, and as he takes his dog to work with him, he profoundly felt the loss of
his four-legged friend all day long. When meeting Sammie, who looked quite like his
departed dog, and had the sweetness and personality he had been missing in his life, an
adoptive match was made!

Bebe

Bebe, a four-year-old female, was surrendered by her
owners to MMR. After getting needed grooming and a medical check-up she was adopted by a
loving family who had just lost their Maltese, Chloe. Bebe now has two sisters, Gloria and
Stella. She snuggles with them and sleeps next to Gloria.

Sammy

Sammy, our sweet, happy, blind, diabetic, buddha-bellied
boy was adopted by a retired RN unfazed by giving insulin injections. She was looking
forward to having a little buddy to hang out with, warm her lap, snuggle with, and bring
along everywhere with her. Now they spend every waking moment possible together.

Lizzy

Lizzy, a five-year-old female, was surrendered by her
owners to MMR. Due to changes in the familys situation they could not longer take
care of her. Lizzy has a great temperament and was quickly adopted by a family. It was
love at first sight. Now Lizzy has a cat sibling named, Lucy.

Desi

Desi, a five-year-old male, was an owner-surrender to
MMR. He is a large Maltese at 14 pounds. Since he is an active, friendly and happy dog we
knew he would find a home quickly. That is what he did. He now lives with a family and has
a Maltese sister named Zoe. They get along great, and the family is in love!
What a happy ending...or new beginning.

Roxie

Roxie, a 7-month-old female Lhasa Apso, was
an owner-surrender to MMR after her family decided she was more than they could handle.
Luckily, MMR found her a home with a family that could take care of her. Since then she
has managed to capture the hearts and love of everyone in her new neighborhood. She loves
people, her new mom and hugs and kisses. Her new mom says she wakes up each morning having
her face washed by the sweetest puppy ever!
