Bubbles

Bubbles

Bubbles, a 10-year-old female, came to MMR when her elderly owner could no longer care for her due to poor health. Bubbles is a timid dog that is very sweet. She was adopted by a family and has bonded with her new "mom". She is very loving and cuddles with all members of the family and dog playmates.

Cody

Cody

Cody is a 4-year-old boy who has been loved and well-cared for, but was tearfully surrendered because his family could not devote to Cody the time that he needs and deserves. This boy is friendly, well-trained, housebroken, and great with kids and other animals. His foster mom realized that she couldn't give him up. We could tell the feeling was mutual for Cody, and so now they are officially a family.

Jagger

Jagger

Jagger, a 10-year-old stray, came to MMR from a shelter on Long Island. He got his name because he's an older guy who still has a lot of spunk and feistiness. He is joyous and playful, running all over the house, and then gleefully flipping onto his back for a belly rub. This dog is such a friendly, easy, desirable pet and so well-behaved and well-trained that he was a great candidate for a first-time dog owner, which is where he finds himself today. Jagger is loved by and charms everyone he meets.

Princess and Jada

Princess     Jada

Princess and Jada are "sisters" who were tearfully surrendered by their owner. These girls have been well-loved and well-cared for, but due to the frantically busy life of their owner, the dogs were not getting the attention they needed. She felt that they deserved a better life with another family. Jada, who enjoys dressing in purple, and Princess, who is partial to pink, are friendly, well-adjusted, happy and sweet 3-and 4-year-old dogs. Princess and Jada went to their forever home in NJ to be with their very excited new family who had recently decided they were ready for a new pet after the death of their 18-year-old Yorkie. This family got the gift of wonderful dogs, and the dogs got the gift of a wonderful family.

Casper

Casper

Casper, a well-cared for 5-year-old male, was surrendered by his owner who loved him dearly, but made a brave decision to put him in rescue when life gave her more than she could handle. She left Casper in MMR's care. Unfortunately, as loving as that owner was, Casper bore heavy emotional scars from his previous life. While you could see in his eyes that he wanted to trust and love, a great deal of fear in his five years made this wee doggie snarl and growl almost constantly. Casper's foster mom worked with him for 10 months and even had a session with an international expert in animal behavior -- specializing in rehabbing animals from war-torn areas. Casper improved to the point where his intelligence and sense of humor returned and he learned to enjoy rolls in the grass, hugs, tummy rubs, and his morning stretches with a back scratch, too. While he seemed the picture of a relaxed, happy little dog, all of this was accompanied by a soundtrack of his snarling and growling. It was the only language he knew! All the work paid off because MMR was able to find Casper the perfect home. Casper's new mom is very experienced with dogs and can spend lots of time with this small guy who thrives with her love, attention and understanding.

Mia

Mia

Mia, a 6-year-old female owner surrender, came to MMR when her family's baby became a toddler. Young children and small dogs need to be supervised as a young child can unknowingly harm the dog that in turn might nip to defend itself. After much deliberation the family turned to MMR to find her a new home. Mia's new family says that she is their "little love bug".

Josie

Josie

Josie, a 4-year-old owner surrender, had been loved and cherished since puppy hood. The family had a child, who at a year-and-a half had become pure misery for little Josie, who did not relish being pulled and grabbed. The family went back and forth on whether or not to give up their beloved pet, but ultimately felt that Josie would be happier elsewhere, and so they contacted MMR. While in foster care, MMR found her a new home that included a Maltese pal, Shade, and several cats.

Tulah

Tulah

Tulah, a 7-year-old stray female, came from the AC&C. She is a sweet, friendly maltese-mix. While in foster care and getting attention for her cataracts, MMR found the perfect family for her. She was very happy to meet them - her tail would not stop wagging! Her friendly, laid-back demeanor is a natural draw for belly rubs and cuddling.
