Percy

Percy (a.k.a. "Zev") was an owner-surrender to
us at a young age. While he was timid with other dogs in his foster home, we saw that he
yearned for special attention from a loving human. It didn't take long for that human to
show up -- Annette. Here's the adoption announcement about Percy/Zev: Zev went home with
Annette in grand style. He was wearing his new coat, rhinestone collar, rhinestone hair
clip and curled up in his new doggie carrying case. Very chic. He sat in Annette's lap as
we chatted and seemed to be very happy with her. I think he is going to be a very spoiled
dog and will love every minute of it!

Sunny

Sunny came to us from the Brooklyn CACC. Our first
impression of him was a "Tonka Truck" with the most beautiful face, as you can
see. We also knew that Sunny was an "alpha" boy who needed an experienced owner.
Mary in Manhattan discovered MMR through a CACC event and wondered if our Sunny might be a
terrific compliment to her Scrappy, a Maltese boy she rescued from Colorado. Very soon a
match was made -- Sunny, Scrappy and Mary are all so happy together.

Pumpkin

This dear boy is another stray the Brooklyn
CACC asked us to take on. They received this little, older guy -- emaciated, sickly and
shy. He was taken in by a new foster who never expected to fall in love... but she did...
Jan and Rob, along with their Maltese girl, Sophie, saw the wonder of a special boy who
came to them near the end of October. And so he was named "Pumpkin". After some
needed vet care, and even more needed love and attention, this little Pumpkin has shown
his dear self more and more each day. Jan, Rob and Sophie have made Pumpkin a permanent
part of their family.

Peaches

Peaches is an "almost Maltese" who we took in
from the Brooklyn CACC. They asked us to care for and place this special girl. Although
she could be "testy" in a new situation (and can you blame her with all the
changes?), once Peaches knew she could trust, she settled in to get love and give love.
Peaches is now experiencing both with Lauri. Here's a note from Lauri after a few weeks
with Peaches: "Peaches has the run of the apartment and really seems at home here.
She sleeps with me every night now. More and more, she likes to play with her toys and
play with me and romp around the apartment. I think she's really beginning to come out of
her shell. My favorite time is when I walk in the door from work; Peaches' two-legged
jumping-up-and-down greeting is the best part of everyday now!"

Monk

Monk is a joy -- a wee one who loves to held and cuddled.
He came to us from the CACC in bad shape (as the shelter often gets in). But a little bit
of TLC was all this "senior" guy needed. He loves all, including humans, cats
and dogs of all sizes. He is home today in upper Manhattan in a home that includes all of
the above. We're delighted to have met dear Monk.

Mitzi

This vivacious little girl, about 6 years
old, was an owner-surrender from a family with "no time". We took in a girl who
looked more like a tiny Sheepdog than a Maltese, but a bath and grooming took care of
that. Mitzi is fun, funny and incredible... She is doing well in her new home with Keri,
along with "brother" Keyser and "rescue-sister" Genny. Mitzi, you
heart-stealer, you...

Earnie

Ernie came to us as an owner-surrender from
the CACC, the animal control shelter in NYC. He was a mere bag of bones with such
horrendous teeth. Even so, his loving, gentle self was evident immediately. The infection
in his mouth was so acute, though, it took some time for his tremendous personality to
completely shine through. Here's a note from his new Mom in Manhattan (another MMR foster
turned adopter): "Ernie is such a joy. He loves everyone he meets. All the dogs on
the block (giant and small) come over to him and he doesn't bark at all. He is a real
sweetheart!"

Crashy

Crashy, while a beguiling, beautiful boy,
was a placement challenge. He is about 10 years old and HATED competing with other dogs
for his human's affections. His prior family loved him, but had "babied" him so
much that when human babies entered the home, it became a problem. But we knew Crashy was
special, and not just because of his pretty face -- we admired his spirit. Thankfully,
Luigia thought so too, so Crashy -- our personality plus, willful little guy -- found his
perfect home with Luigia in Hazlett, NJ. He is now so confident that he is loved and home
forever, he is a frequent visitor to Luigia's elementary school classroom. Confidence,
safety and lots of love are sometimes all it takes. Congratulations to Luigia & Crash!
