AMA National Specialty in Charleston

Rosemarie & Joan attended the
American Maltese Association's National Specialty in Charleston, SC. The highlight was the
Rescue Parade with about fifteen rescue dogs participating. The rescue stories were an
amazing testament to what these dogs and their rescuers can do. Tony and Oliver were
spectacular MMR spokes-dogs. Tony served as comic relief as he barked through the ovations
for each rescue dog that took his/her walk around the "Ring of Champions".
Oliver got the biggest "aaaahhh" from the crowd, as he pranced around the ring
in his cowboy duds. This was a wonderful event, particularly because AMA members are so
supportive of rescue and welcoming to all the rescuers and rescue dogs who attended from
across the country.

Debbie Kirsch, the AMA Rescue Chairperson,
organized the rescue events and was an inspirational
"Mistress of Ceremonies" for the Rescue Parade.

The Awards Banquet was a wonderful event to
acknowledge
the achievements of many special people and to make new friends.
